PCSing can be an exciting time for your family. Moving to new locations across the country and around the world is an adventure. However, the adventure can also come with stress, especially if you are moving with children.
Wherever you are moving, you should contact the local Navy Housing Service Center (HSC). The HSC provides information about on base housing along with the local housing market. They know that parents have a specific set of requirements when it comes to finding a home. The professional counselors at the HSC can answer questions about local neighborhoods and community amenities. They can point you in the right direction to find information about local schools and crime statistics.
You can contact the Navy HSC using the online Housing Early Application Tool – HEAT. Through HEAT you can request local information as well as start the housing application process.
